MAC addresses are one of the key attributes that Configuration Manager uses when processing DDRs when attempting to determine if a new discovery record matches a resource previously discovered and recorded in the site database. The software does not allow changing the MAC (Cisco uses this to determine license counts). So at any time, I see 700-1000 devices with the same MAC address. Using a Cisco VPN software client that SCCM sees as a duplicate MAC.
